Welcome

I am currently enrolled in the BSc in Computing level 8 course
in DBS, on this page you will find out more about the course,
the first year module 'Introduction to Web Development',
as well as general information about the college.

About DBS

Dublin business school opened in 1975. When it first opened it offered evening courses for people preparing to sit accountancy exams. Since then, it has expanded to offer courses in many more areas, such as business, law, finance, computing and psychology. DBS has over 60 clubs and societies that students can join while enrolled in the college. DBS also has an award winning library facility located in the Auinger Street building.

Program Details

This course is a four year full time level 8 degree. It is split into two streams, Software Development and Data Analytics, but for the first two years all computing students take the same modules. In their third year of study, depending on the stream they choose the students have an option to do either a project or an industry work placement.

Module Info

One module students take in the second semester of their
first year is Introduction to Web Development.
The goal of this module is to introduce students to the
tools they will need to create their own webpages, and improve
their understanding of how websites are hosted.
The lecturer for this module is Arturo Vazquez Zepeda.

Personal Objectives

I hope that by the end of this module I will be
comfortable enough with HTML & CSS to create my own
simple webpages. I am looking forward to practicing
designing and laying out websites.
